Wellness Resources

Juggling many responsibilities at work and at home can be a challenge. Getting help juggling these responsibilities is one of the primary reasons employees call the Employee Assistance Program. We have many resources to help you maintain your “wellness.” Whether it’s stress management, issues with a co-worker or supervisor, grief issues, finding capable childcare or elder care, or resolving a legal or financial issue, the Employee Assistance Program of Mount Auburn Hospital has special services to help you meet these needs.

Child Care Services

Today many families face challenges in finding appropriate child care services. And once you find a service, you may be uncertain just what questions to ask the provider, or how to evaluate the program. Counselors at the EAP can assist you in answering these questions and in accessing local databases and agencies for services.

Mount Auburn Hospital EAP also collaborates with a national referral service that maintains an extensive database of licensed day care centers, summer camps, and other providers of child care services.

Available to meet your needs through the web site or our toll-free telephone number, the staff will discuss with you your specific child care needs, including the ages of your children, the location and times of service, and any specific additional requests.

This service will then contact providers in your area, and within 3-4 days, will mail you a list of facilities that meet your requirements and have current openings. They will also provide a booklet about how to assess child care services, with suggested questions to help you make a decision about the care of your child.

It is important to note that not every company subscribes to this expanded service. To find out if your company subscribes to the Child Care Referral service of the EAP, contact your Human Resources Department or the Employee Assistance Program at 1-800-888-5105. Elder Care Services

Many individuals are also caring for older family members while trying to work and raise a family. Finding quality support services for a frail parent can allow you to tend to your family and your job, knowing that your parent’s needs are being met.

We increasingly hear from individuals who are trying to help their elderly parents, who may be ill or frail, or just in need of regular support. This can be especially difficult if your parent lives at a distance from you. Our counselors can assist you in connecting with appropriate agencies to provide these services.

In addition, for employees of many of our client companies, a national database of resources can assist with the search for help. The database includes Senior Day Care Centers, home health care agencies, homemaker and companion services, and nursing homes. The staff will discuss your parent’s situation with you and, within 3-4 days, will provide you with a list of facilities or programs that meet your requirements and currently have openings. Booklets with helpful information are also provided to guide you through the process of choosing the most appropriate services for your parent.

It is important to note that not every company subscribes to this service. Legal and Financial Services

Legal and financial questions may arise suddenly, and finding trained professionals to help you understand your rights and options is very important. EAP counselors can refer you to local attorneys and financial services.

In addition, the EAP of Mount Auburn has chosen Legal Access Plans, Inc. to meet many of the legal and financial needs of the employees of our client companies. These may be issues that suddenly occur, or issues that require long-term planning.

EAP members have access to an extensive library of documents related to legal situations from making a will to buying a home, as well as information on domestic violence and civil matters.

Many of our companies provide for additional services, including telephone consultation with an attorney or a financial planner and subsequent reduced fee services. Financial services are provided by certified financial planners, both individuals and larger agencies, including American Express Financial Services.

It is important to note that not every company subscribes to this service. To find out if your company subscribes to the Legal and Financial Referral service of the EAP, contact the Employee Assistance Program at 1-800-888-5105. To access the website, click here.
